Welcome...
This is the official web site of The Compassionate Friends of Spokane.
The Compassionate Friends is a self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child of any age, from any cause.
| Upcoming Chapter Meetings...
Our April meeting will feature a guest, Mary M. Murphy, LMHC. Mary will be talking with us about grief and loss issues we face with the death of a child or sibling. Come and join in the conversation. Visit www.marymurphylmhc.com.
The meeting is Monday, April 9 in the conference room at Shadle Public Library, 2111 W. Wellesley Ave. in Spokane, from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM. Map
Mostly we just kind of chat about our kids, what we’ve experienced, the stupid things people say, ask questions, etc. It’s about talking with other people that kind of get all the craziness that others don’t get. We call it, the “new normal.” We tend to talk a whole lot more about the way that they lived rather than how they died. You can come and talk about or child or just listen or whatever. Feel free to bring photos or anything else you’d like to share.
The meeting schedule for the first half of 2012 is now on the Meetings tab.
